Partner January 2022 Update

Retirement: OneNote Learning Tools COM Add - in

We will be retiring the old OneNote Learning Tools COM Add-in feature beginning on March 31st, 2022. Users who currently have the Learning Tools Add-in installed on OneNote 2013 or OneNote 2016 will still be able to use it, but users or IT Admins will no longer be able to download new copies. In addition to this, any bugs will not be fixed, and we will no longer offer support for the old COM Add-in after March 31st, 2022.

Note: Instead we recommend the utilisation of the new built-in Immersive Reader in OneNote Desktop that is part of Office 365, which is where we will continue to invest our development resources. We will also be adding built-in Dictation to OneNote Desktop in Office 365 later in 2022.

How this will affect your organisation:
Neither Users or Administrators will be able to download the old OneNote Learning Tools COM Add-in, when this change is implemented.

What you need to do to prepare:
Instead of using the OneNote Learning Tools COM Add-in, we recommend using any of the following:

OneNote Desktop in Office 365, which now has the Immersive Reader built-in natively. Dictation is being added to OneNote Desktop later in 2022
OneNote for Windows 10, which has both the Immersive Reader and Dictation built-in
OneNote for the web - both Immersive Reader and Dictation
Dictation built-in to Windows 10 or Windows 11

Update: Suggested Replies - Outlook for Office

Updated January 04, 2022: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.
Note: Due to some issues that presented themselves prior to rollout, we paused our planned release until now. Your patience and understanding is appreciated.

When this will happen:
We expect this rollout to begin in early December (previously June) and be completed by early February 2022 (previously early January).

How this will affect your organisation:
Suggested replies are short email responses that appear at the bottom of an email message. When your users receive a message in email that can be answered with a short response, Outlook will suggest three responses that they can use to reply with a couple of clicks while always having the option to keep editing until they click or tap on "send".

Dynamics 365 Marketing - Automatic Update Scheduled

We have scheduled the Marketing instances in your Microsoft Dynamics 365 tenant for an automatic update beginning on 12 January, 2022, at 11:00 UTC. Although we don’t expect the update process to significantly degrade service performance or availability, we have scheduled it to occur outside of your region’s normal business hours to minimize potential impact to your organization. If you have users who access the system outside of normal business hours, they may see a short, intermittent impact. You can still manually update using the Marketing Setup Wizard if there is an update that has not yet been applied.

For more information about automatic updates and what is included in this release please see:

Modernising the way we update Dynamics 365 :

During the update process, we may create a support instance containing a minimal copy of your existing instance. If needed, our engineering team will run the update on this support instance to help anticipate and/or troubleshoot upgrade issues. This support instance will be located in the same regional data center as your current instance and we will delete it when we are done. It will be visible on your tenant and accessible both by your administrators and by our engineers. Support instances are completely isolated from your other instances, have no impact on your business, and will not count toward your storage limit.

Early Update: New Dynamics 365 Sales Features available for quick setup

Customers using Dynamics 365 Sales* will see three new premium features available within the administration area of Dynamics 365 Sales Hub Application starting January 2022. The update is rolling out across supported regions throughout January. Each feature can then be enabled independently from the Dynamics 365 Sales Hub to make it visible for sellers.

The new features are as follows:

Teams Calls with Conversation Intelligence – Sellers can leverage an integrated Teams dialer for outbound and inbound calling for Dynamics 365 Sales. Conversation intelligence transcribes the call and provides meaningful insights and analyses content, sentiment, and behavioral style—such as competitors and keywords that the prospect mentions.

Manage your worklist with Sales Accelerator – Sales accelerator is the central work hub allowing a seller to see the next best record to engage in a prioritised list. As a seller selects on the record, they can see a series of automated action recommendations (sequences) to guide them through a process.

Lead & Opportunity Scoring – Predictive lead and opportunity scoring utilises machine learning model to calculate a score for all open leads and opportunities. The score helps salespeople prioritise who to engage with next to achieve a higher qualification and conversion rate.

Each of these support and showcase growing digital selling needs within an organisation. We will provide a starting per month capacity to introduce the benefits to all organisations. If you need additional capacity, simply step up to Sales Premium.

* Excludes Dynamics 365 Sales Professional users.

How can I get started?
Once the new features are available within your region, the setup is simple – head to the Dynamics 365 Sales Hub within your chosen environment and launch 'App Settings’.

Within the Digital Sales Menu option select ‘Get Started’

Play the Overview and Setup videos and utilise the Quick Setup wizards to enable within your environment.
